The tank problems were
1 corrosion at welded connections
2 cracks due to thin metal caused by heating and cooling cycles
3 copper coil failure due to poor support design ( movement of coil on square support rail causing hole )
4 corrosion of short tubes that connect assistant tank , vent , and drain

The collector absorbs solar energy and heats the water as it passes through the system. The heated water is then stored in an insulated tank and is pressurized for use in the building. In this system, there is no separate heat exchanger or heat transfer fluid; the water itself is heated directly.
