The comparsion between Pre-heated Pressure Solar heater and Integrated Pressure Solar heater

Who will be the winner ?
Pre-heated Solar Heater or Heat pipe Pressurized Solar Heater ?
Discuss it ! info@useesolar.com

Have you faced such problems from the Coil type Pre-heated Pressure system ?

Hi

The tank problems were

1 corrosion at welded connections

2 cracks due to thin metal caused by heating and cooling cycles

3 copper coil failure due to poor support design ( movement of coil on  square support rail causing hole )

4 corrosion of short tubes that connect assistant tank , vent , and drain

Say something about your thoughts of solar water heater

The main difference between a pre-heated pressure solar heater and a compact pressure solar heater lies in the way they heat the water and their overall design.

Pre-Heated Pressure Solar Heater:
A pre-heated pressure solar heater, also known as an indirect solar water heater, operates by using two separate water circuits. The first circuit consists of a solar collector that heats a heat transfer fluid (usually a non-freezing liquid like antifreeze), which is then passed through a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger transfers the heat from the fluid to the water in the storage tank, thus indirectly heating the water. The heated water is stored in a separate insulated tank and is pressurized for distribution throughout the building. In this system, the potable water (water for everyday use) does not directly flow through the solar collector.

Compact Pressure Solar Heater:
A compact pressure solar heater, also known as a direct solar water heater, operates by directly circulating the potable water through the solar collector. The collector absorbs solar energy and heats the water as it passes through the system. The heated water is then stored in an insulated tank and is pressurized for use in the building. In this system, there is no separate heat exchanger or heat transfer fluid; the water itself is heated directly.

In summary, the key differences are:

Pre-heated pressure solar heater uses a separate circuit with a heat exchanger to transfer heat from a heat transfer fluid to the water, while compact pressure solar heater directly circulates the water through the collector for heating.
Pre-heated pressure solar heater indirectly heats the water, while compact pressure solar heater directly heats the water.
Pre-heated pressure solar heater requires a heat transfer fluid, while compact pressure solar heater does not.
The design of the two systems may also differ, with pre-heated pressure solar heaters often requiring additional components like a heat exchanger and separate storage tank, whereas compact pressure solar heaters can have a more integrated and simplified design.
The choice between the two types depends on factors such as local climate, water quality, and specific user requirements.
